My Minnesota

August

This August was bittersweet for us.  This was Molly's last August to be "little".  Kindergarten in September is real and I am having a little bit of a hard time with the thought of it.  We spent the last days of summer break doing nothing and enjoying every minute.  Here is a little snapshot of what we like to do around our neighborhood.  Please check out Lori Dozier's blog post for her life in August.  Thanks for looking!!

Oh yeah, and just one I couldn't resist of my sweet baby James, free lensed.

My Minnesota

My Minnesota
July

This July we were lucky enough to catch the most beautiful rainbow in our own backyard.  It isn't often you get to see such a magical sight!  The kids were talking about finding gold and leprechauns, it really brought me back to my own childhood.  We spent some time at the cabin with just our little family and had such a great time making memories.  Breakfast seems so sweet at the cabin, different somehow.  Simple things like Grandma's highchair can occupy so much time and it feels good to let it.  I love that time means nothing when you are away from your daily routine.

My Minnesota

My Minnesota
June

Summertime is in full swing in our neck of the woods.  Her tanned skin and sun bleached hair are kissed with the sticky scent of bug spray.  The humidity tangles her hair and makes it impossible to comb.  She could dance and play for hours in this June weather.  Please check out the June edition of "My Minnesota" from some wonderful local MN photographers.  Check out my dear friend Christa's amazing June images.

My Minnesota

My Minnesota
May

May has been full of adventure.  From flying kites at the park to pool parties in the back yard.  The kids have been loving the "summer" weather.  All signs of winter have been washed away by rain and are long gone from our memory.  We have been lazily hanging about outdoors eating popsicles and daydreaming.  May has been good to us..........

Head on over to Melissa Pizzalato's blog to see her take on Minnesota in May.

My Minnesota

My Minnesota
April

April is tricky in Minnesota.   We are growing tired of the snow, the little bit we have left is ugly and gray on the side of the roads.  A fresh blanket will fall and look pretty again but we are really longing for spring.  We want to open our windows and ditch our winter jackets.  The kids are ready to get out and run and play.  Spring is so close we can taste it.  When it does make an appearance we run outside to enjoy every last second of the day.  This April we were lucky to go to a few parks and enjoy the puffy clouds again.  We watched the world from the treehouse for hours.  And a warm fire is the perfect way to end a great day.  I was given the opportunity to share my photographs with some amazing artists to share what Minnesota is to me every month.  Here is my take on Minnesota.......

Thanks for checking out my work.  Please take a look at Melissa Pizzalato's awesome take on April in Minnesota.

Oh Florida..........how I miss you.

Oh Florida........... how I miss you.  I love the break you gave us from this long winter in Minnesota.  I love your warm breezes and sunny skies.  I miss the smells and sounds of the ocean.  I miss the walks on the beach with our toes in the water, waves crashing over our feet.  I miss searching for shells in the sand with all of the kids.  Building sandcastles and chasing birds never sounded so sweet.  Smiles and squeals I will keep in my heart forever.  I fell in love with taking photos at the beach......
